An integrated flow generator, wide flow range (2 - 60 L/min) and various interfaces facilitates the treatment of a broad range of patients across the hospital.

Nasal High Flow Therapy (NHF) aka HFNC is recommended for several clinical applications among published clinical practice guidelines.

Advanced two-spiral design

The AirSpiral heated breathing tube for Airvo 2 utilizes an advanced two-spiral design to help protect against condensate.

We’ve all seen it happen before. When warm, humid gas touches anything even a fraction of a degree colder than itself (i.e. dew point), it cools and generates condensate. We see it often in conventional breathing tubes made of thin, dense plastic: their surfaces are easily cooled by the outside air, resulting in unpleasant “rain-out”.

Adapter

The Heater Wire Adapter is designed for making electrical connection between the Fisher & Paykel Healthcare MR850 and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare heated breathing circuits.

The heater-wire adapter for the F&P 850 System powers the inspiratory and expiratory limbs, heating the water vapor inside to remain above its dew point temperature. This heating reduces condensation from forming in the breathing circuit.

FlexiTrunk Interface features

Bubble CPAP generator features

The Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Bubble CPAP generator is designed to provide consistent pressure through an auto-leveling feature. This design moves excess liquid into a separate chamber from the main pressure-generating section, automatically ensuring that the set pressure does not change with liquid build-up.

The bubble generator includes an overflow container that can be detached to remove excess water from the system, without disrupting delivery therapy.

Resuscitation Masks for Neopuff™

The Fisher & Paykel Healthcare resuscitation masks for neonates and infants are available in five different sizes to fit a range of patients.

International guidelines recommend that an appropriately sized infant face mask should cover the mouth and nose but not the eyes, and should not overlap the chin. Careful consideration needs to be given to mask size, fit and hold as a good seal with minimized leak is important for establishing effective ventilation.

Resuscitation mask product features

The resuscitation mask range by Fisher & Paykel Healthcare includes masks of 35mm and 42 mm diameter, which are amongst the smallest masks currently available on the market.

Research shows that 35-millimeter-diameter masks are most suitable for infants younger than 29 weeks’ gestational age, while masks with a 42-millimeter diameter are recommended for infants between 27 and 33 weeks’ gestational age.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s resuscitation masks can be used with a self-inflating bag, a flow-inflating bag or a T-piece circuit. The infant masks are designed to be soft and pliable, with a transparent surface that allows breath condensate to be observed.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare offers three types of T-piece circuits: classic, ergonomic and humidified

All of these circuits can be connected to a mask or endotracheal tube, and they all have positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) valves for adjusting pressure.

T-piece circuit product features

The classic T-piece circuit has a standard T-piece to connect to a mask or endotracheal tube, along with a PEEP valve to adjust pressure.

In addition to the features of the classic T-piece circuit, the ergonomic T-piece circuit includes a duckbill port for suctioning and delivering surfactant during resuscitation. The T-piece also has a blue protective cover that can be used to set and check pressures. The angled orientation of the PEEP valve has been designed to allow operators to use a more ergonomic hand position.

With spiral heater-wire throughout the circuit tubing, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s heated and humidified T-piece circuit is designed to deliver warm, humidified gas using the Fisher & Paykel Healthcare MR850 humidifier and the MR290 chamber. Resuscitation with heated and humidified gas is associated with a higher rate of normothermia (rectal temperature between 36.5°C and 37.5 °C) on admission to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Infant Resuscitation

Neopuff™

The Neopuff is a T-piece resuscitator designed by Fisher & Paykel Healthcare to deliver controlled, consistent, and precise pressures – independent of operator experience.

It can provide assisted respiratory breaths to neonates and infants (up to 10 kg) in the delivery room or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

International neonatal resuscitation guidelines recommend the use of a T-piece resuscitator

Compared to self-inflating and flow-inflating bags, T-piece resuscitators like the Neopuff deliver a more controlled and consistent peak inspiratory pressure (PIP) and positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP),6,7 which helps to protect the newborn’s lungs.

Pressure measurements obtained from a resuscitation simulator while a self-inflating bag and a F&P Neopuff were used by a qualified resuscitator.

Neopuff™ product features

The Neopuff resuscitator can deliver oxygen levels ranging from 21% through to 100%, from a flow meter or blender.

The resuscitator has a PIP control, as well as a maximum pressure relief valve that prevents the accidental delivery of excessively high pressures.

The Neopuff resuscitator features an accurate, easy-to-read, medical quality manometer, and can be mounted on a pole, rail, wall, infant warmer, or incubator.

The Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Optiflow Junior 2 Nasal Interface is a non-sealing nasal interface specifically designed for the flow requirements and anatomical features of neonates, infants, and children on nasal high flow (NHF) therapy. NHF offers a range of benefits compared to standard oxygen therapy, and there are several mechanisms of action associated with this treatment, including airway hydration and reduction of anatomical dead space.
